Checkmate

Checkmate is ITZY's fifth mini album, released on July 15, 2022 by JYP Entertainment. It contains seven tracks, including the title track "Sneakers".

The album was produced by Sebastian Thott, Czaer, LDN Noise, Karin Wilhemina Eurenius, Christoffer Semelius, Deez, Yunsu and Gusten Dahlqvist. Wearing a new visual, ITZY shows a confident attitude of knowing "how to express oneself honestly" and "enjoying my own path".

Checkmate was a commercial success, debuting at number one on South Korea's Circle Album Chart with 700,000 copies sold in the first week of release, marking ITZY's fourth number-one album on the chart. In September, the album became the group's first album to be certified Million for surpassing 1,000,000 copies sold. It also debuted at number eight on the Billboard 200, becoming ITZY's first top-ten album in the United States.
